Before the home-made and wholesome trend took over, a small farmhouse kitchen in the Koue Bokkeveld was quietly producing delicious hand-made biscuits and rusks, created from traditional family recipes. Twenty years later, Mamamac’s still lovingly hand-rolls and cuts each biscuit, all to ensure the very best quality and airy texture, proving to be the perfect accompaniment to any cup of tea. Luckily these biscuits are no longer only enjoyed in the Western Cape, they can also be found at select SPAR and Checkers stores, as well as at Yuppiechef.
For owner, Anneke Mackenzie, running a small business has been incredibly rewarding. More so than her previous title as a well-respected marketing manager in the corporate industry. She gave up everything – from her high-powered job and all it has to offer, to life in the city – and took on the challenge of running the family business. It was time to start over and do good for her newly adopted son, which is why Mamamac’s isn’t just a business for Anneke – it’s where she is creating a legacy for her son whilst empowering the local community at the same time.
As an entrepreneur, Anneke believes that any business journey should be fueled by celebrating every achievement and, so, to celebrate the growth of Mamamac’s, they’re giving away three hampers worth over R500 each!
Each glorious collection of goodies comprises the following:
- 3 x packets buttery Mamamac’s shortbread
- 3 x packets delicious hand-rolled Mamamac’s biscuits
- 3 x packets incredibly delicious Mamamac’s rusks. Yum!
