Nothing detracts more from an amazing view than an almost-grey, dishevelled, umbrella that has seen better days. Luckily, this is no longer an issue thanks to Beachyheads’ beautiful range of umbrellas and inspirational beach accessories.
Beachheads was started by Anne Young, a mom of three, who lives in Plett. While enjoying some beach time with her kids, she noticed that there was a real gap in the market for pretty yet practical beach umbrellas – and Beachyheads was born.
Anne produces all the designs on quality, organic 250g cotton canvas, which are then made up by local seamstresses in the area. Ticking boxes for both form and function, each umbrella is also lightweight, plus, best of all, has a ‘sand screw’ and a useful hook to hang wet cozzies.
All of the high-quality products have UV protection and are built to use and built to last. There are 14 different designs and you’ll fall in love with the rainbow of colours and designs. Take your pick from fun, subtle choices such as Houndstooth, Damask, Polka Dot and Chevron or something a little more quirky such as Fish Scales, Sea Horses and particularly for the locals, the ever-elusive, Pansy Shell.
The range now includes everything from generous beach mats and oversized beach bags to drawstring swimming bags and sun hats for kids. Ladies will love the gorgeous sarongs and kaftans and to complete the look, you won’t be able to say ‘no’ to the cooler bag and wallet. The best part is, every item from Beachheads would live equally well in your garden and stoep in the city as it would on your beach holiday.
