Chocolate and apple wonton pastries

Wontons can be found in the frozen section of Asian supermarkets.

TO DRINK: After the espresso, DallaCia Cabernet Merlot Grappa. 

Chocolate and apple wonton pastries

Serves: 4
Cooking Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • 16 wonton wrappers
  • 2 small Granny Smith apples, thickly sliced
  • 10ml (2 tsp) ground cinnamon
  • 80g chocolate, finely chopped
  • 20ml (4 tsp) butter, melted
  • 30ml (2 tbsp) icing sugar, to dust
  • espresso, to serve

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 180°C.

Place 8 wonton wrappers on a greased baking tray.

Place a slice of apple on each wrapper and sprinkle with cinnamon. Divide the chocolate between the wrappers.

Brush the pastry edges with a little water, top each wonton with another wrapper and squeeze the edges together to seal. Brush with butter and bake until golden brown and crisp, about 10 minutes.

Remove from the oven and leave to cool a little. Dust with icing sugar and serve with espresso.
