Orange-strawberry sorbet and banana ice cream

TO DRINK: Mooiplaas Langtafel Rosé, with prominent strawberry flavours.

Orange-strawberry sorbet and banana ice cream

Serves: 1L
Cooking Time: 15 mins plus extra for freezing

Ingredients

  • SORBET
  • 20 oranges
  • 125ml (½ cup) honey
  • 500g strawberries, washed, hulled and chopped
  • 125ml (½ cup) water
  • ICE CREAM
  • 6 bananas, frozen
  • 60ml honey, plus extra for serving
  • 125ml (½ cup) dried apricots
  • 30ml (2 tbsp) almonds

Instructions

For the sorbet, remove the skin and pith from the oranges. Combine all the ingredients in a food processor and blend until smooth. Transfer to an ice-cream maker and freeze for at least 8 hours.

For the ice cream, blend the bananas in a food processor until smooth. Blend in the rest of the ingredients and freeze for 8 hours.

Serve together, drizzled with honey.
