Airfryer spicy fried drumsticks

Make a healthier version of traditional fried chicken using an airfryer.

These spicy fried drumsticks are not only lower in calories but are big on taste.

INGREDIENTS

  • 6 chicken drumsticks
  • 1 clove garlic
  • ½ tsp mustard
  • 10 ml (2 tsp) brown sugar
  • 5 ml (1 tsp) chilli powder
  • 5 ml (1 tsp) olive oil
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

METHOD

CRUSH the garlic and mix it in a bowl large enough to hold all the chicken, with the mustard, sugar, chilli powder and olive oil. Season with salt and pepper.

RUB the drumsticks all over with the marinade and allow to sit for 20 minutes.

PREHEAT the Philips Airfryer to 200°C.

PLACE the drumsticks into the Philips Airfryer basket and slide the basket into the Philips Airfryer. Set the timer for 10 minutes. Roast the drumsticks until the timer rings, and they’re brown.

ADJUST the temperature to 150°C and set the timer for another 10 minutes, until the drumsticks are cooked through.

Philips Airfryer spicy fried drumsticks

Serves: 6 drumsticks
Cooking Time: 25 minutes, plus 20 minutes to marinade

Notes
