Come experience the magic of the Durbanville Wine Valley in one convenient location! On Saturday, 5 and Sunday, 6 November 2022, The Village Square in Durbanville will be hosting the region’s first ever Wine on the Square dorpsfees.
With 13 wineries from the prestigious Durbanville region and nine Village Square restaurants participating in the event, it’s bound to be a feast for the senses. Adding to this, an array of local musicians are set to keep the atmosphere festive with foot-tapping live performances throughout the weekend.
Visitors can look forward to tasting and purchasing wines by De Grendel, Diemersdal, D’Aria, Canto, Bloemendal, Altydgedacht, Durbanville Hills, Groot Phesantekraal, Klein Roosboom, Maastricht, Meerendal, Nitida, and Signal Gun. Each winery will have a representative present to tell the stories behind the wines and share some insights into the wine-making processes.
The Village Square eateries will be joining in the festivities by serving small plates of their signature dishes and delicacies. With Bootlegger Coffee Co, The Hussar Grill, The Pink House – Knead Bakery, Boathouse Sushi, Alberto’s, Mozambik, Lupa Osteria, Kauai and The Creamery peddling their wares, visitors can expect to enjoy anything from salmon to sirloin, coffee to ice cream and everything in between while sipping their favourite wines from the Durbanville Wine Valley.
“We are so excited about this collaborative effort to show off the gastronomic prowess of our beloved region,” says Natasha de Villiers, Durbanville Wine Valley manager.
“We look forward to treating visitors to a weekend of superb wine, delicious food and great music. With December just around the corner, it’s time to start getting into the festive season mood. Wine on the Square is the perfect opportunity to do just this! We hope it will give people a chance to unwind, relax and enjoy some of the good things in life.”
