World Sandwich Day is just one week away on the 3rd of November, and Ladles of Love are on a mission to provide 100 000 sandwiches to children needing food relief.
According to Mary-Anne Musekiwa, the committee Chairperson and chief financial officer at Coronation, who is the headline sponsor of the Sarmiethon, there are more than 600 000 children in South Africa who are food insecure.
Ladles of Love need help reaching their target of selling 100 000 sandwiches before the Sarmiethon events that take place on World Sandwich Day. At the V&A Waterfront Makers Landing in Cape Town, and Old Eds in Houghton in Johannesburg, corporate teams will be tasked with making 100 000 sandwiches in 6 hours on behalf of your donation.
All you need to do is buy and gift as many sandwiches as you can on their website. From there, you can track how the sandwiches are distributed – plus you’ll be entered into a draw for the chance to win amazing prizes.
Founder and Director of Ladles of Love Danny Diliberto says:
“I wish you could see the joy sandwiches bring to hungry people, especially the little ones. Their eyes light up with the first bite and as it hits the hunger spot, smiles spread across their faces, and they sigh relief. Every time we visit communities, we experience the hope and joy sandwiches bring. Our ask is simply for kind-hearted people to buy as many sarmies as you can and together let’s put smiles on the faces of 100,000 children by alleviating their hunger.”
Ladles of Love are spreading the love, one Sarmie at a time.
